As a living being, there are several characteristics that are definitely possessed: the ability to metabolize, responsiveness to stress, the ability to grow and reproduce, and the characteristic of genetic variation.
Among these, the only thing I haven't done yet is reproduction. This is also one of the reasons why I plan to have children.
Nowadays, many people around me do not want to have children, and almost the only reason is that they cannot afford to raise them. Upon reflection, the reasons for not being able to afford it boil down to a few points: not having a big enough house to raise them, not being able to provide adequate nutrition, and not being able to afford education.
But upon closer examination, these are all basically unfounded assumptions. For example, if we consider raising three children, a three-bedroom house would definitely be enough. If you can't afford to buy in Shanghai, then buy in a place where you can afford. The question of whether to have fewer children to stay in Shanghai or to leave Shanghai in order to have children needs to be carefully considered. At least for me, I have no confusion or hesitation about this. The second point is also nonsense. My personal requirements are very low, as long as the children are not starving. If they really are starving, then it's probably not a family issue. The third point may be the one that people are most concerned about, which is the issue of children's education. However, I personally believe that the areas where people spend the most money and effort are actually the least important things in shaping a child's personality and values. Taking children to the park for a walk and exercise on weekends, taking them to bookstores and libraries to read, taking them to watch movies and listen to music are much more important than sending them to piano lessons, trigonometry classes, skiing lessons, or fencing classes. And these activities hardly cost anything, yet their value is much greater than the latter. The acquisition of these things is the same whether you are in your hometown or in Shanghai.
As for broadening horizons and experiences, there is no high or low, everyone sees only one side of the world, and it cannot be said that knowing the top ten luxury watches is better than knowing ten constellations. What is more important is to cultivate the correct values and the pursuit of upward spirit in children. As for oneself, it is important to remember that even oneself is not perfect, there is no perfect person in the world, so one should not pursue perfection for their children, and should not expect them to become a dragon. Let them learn to think, explore, reflect on themselves, and correct themselves, and all problems will be easily solved.
